Fastenings & Fixings
It is important to select the correct fasteners for your application. The fasteners must be class 5 minimum, their durability is at least equal to the durability of the material and all screws have a neoprene washer and in some cases a load-spreading washer and EPDM.
The NZMRM Code of Practice provides information on selection, fixing methods and patterns according to wind zones.
The following chart shows the maximum permissible purlin spacing (span) for Styleline G550 (under 1km concentrated load).
These should be reduced in high foot traffic areas, areas supporting items such as air conditioning units or positioned to suit specific locations e.g. high wind zones.
Steelformers have the means of delivering lengths up to 16.2m long. Contact your nearest Steelformers branch for more information on what's available. Longer lengths can be delivered upon arrangement (price on application).
Installation must be completed by, or under the supervision of a Licensed Building Practitioner with the relevant license class. All installations should be to the standards as set out in the NZMRM Code of Practice.
Warranty & Maintenance
Styleline is covered by warranty for coating performance, corrosion resistance and substrate integrity. Warranty is subject to the use of the appropriate product for the environment and regular maintenance as per the manufacturers recommendations.
Prior to ordering, the product type, material, paint coating type, along with site details including address, distance from sea and degree of exposure need to be considered to ensure your chosen material is suitable for the environment in which they will be exposed.
Contact a Steelformers sales representative for advice or more information.
To prevent the accumulative effects of salt spray, dirt and other material not removed by rain, manual washing is required. Areas that do not receive adequate rain washing e.g. soffits, wall cladding under eaves, underside of gutters and fascias.
Reference must be made to New Zealand Steel Ltd or Pacific Coil Coaters literature for exact details of maintenance requirements.
