New Zealand Steel produces a range of coated steel products.
Traditional galvanised steel is offered under the trade name of GALVSTEEL™. This material has a 100% zinc coating and is available in a range of dimensions, grades, zinc coating weights and types.
ZINCALUME® zinc/aluminium alloy-coated steel has a 45% zinc, 55% aluminium alloy coating which offers superior corrosion resistance compared to galvanised steel in most environments (particularly coastal environments).
COLORSTEEL® is prepainted steel with an oven-cured paint coating applied to a ZINCALUME® coated steel base. This is produced on a continuous coil to coil operation at the New Zealand Steel Glenbrook works. The pre-painting process gives excellent adhesion to the substrate, allowing rollforming to be performed without delamination or deterioration of the paint film. COLORSTEEL® is produced using either an AZ150 ZINCALUME® coating (150g/m2 zinc/aluminium alloy) for Endura™ or an AZ200 ZINCALUME® coating (200g/m2 zinc/aluminium alloy) for Maxx™.
COLORSTEEL® Endura™ products have an AZ150 ZINCALUME® coating (150 g/m2 zinc/aluminium alloy) on a steel base. Endura™ is available in 24 colours, selected for their ability to provide optimum performance, durability and appeal.
COLORSTEEL® Maxx™ products have an AZ200 ZINCALUME® coating (200g/m2 zinc/aluminium alloy) on a steel base. This product utilises a heavy duty coating and is intended for improved performance in all environmental categories, especially Very Severe environments. Maxx™ is available in 12 colours.
Pacific Coilcoaters produce a range of prepainted steel coil.
ColorCote® ZR8™ is a high durability product designed to give excellent colour retention and high formability at moderate cost.
Suitable for exterior uses where there is a high risk of accelerated corrosion, it has very good colour and gloss retention and is suitable for roofing, cladding, rainwater goods and garage doors.
ColorCote® ZRX™ is a highly durable and corrosion resistant product designed with high formability and premium weatherability.
Suitable for exterior uses where high formability (such as crimp curving after roll forming), excellent colour and gloss retention is required. It is suited to environments such as severe marine, geothermal and industrial sites where there is a high risk of corrosion due to corrosive elements in the atmosphere.
ColorCote® ARX™ has a tough, durable, organic coating applied in a continuous process to an aluminium substrate.
Designed to provide a high level of structural & aesthetic integrity in very severe environments (ISO Category 5)
